A Quick Escape: Crystal Towers

A couple of weeks ago, Keenan and I were invited to spend a romantic night away at the Crystal Towers Hotel & Spa, just outside of the city. We absolutely love going away, even if it’s just for a quick night, so we packed our bags and drove the 15 minutes to Canal Walk and the hotel.
I’d been to the hotel before, for a visit to the spa, so I knew that it was luxe and sparkly. We checked in and headed up to our room. The rooms are very romantic, with a huge bed, a shower in the middle of the room and a deep bath.

Before dinner we had a couple of cocktails in the sparkly red bar and it really felt like we were on a special date; thick carpets, huge dangly chandeliers and an extensive cocktail menu.
One thing that surprised me about the hotel was the delicious food. We had a three course menu of tasty, fancy food that really was fantastic. Another thing I have to mention that every single staff member we came across was incredibly warm, friendly and helpful.
After dinner we went back up to our room and found a warm bath drawn, complete with candles, rose petals and bubble bath. The romance!

To top off the night of luxury, we ordered an enormous breakfast in bed and lay in until about 5 minutes before checkout. All in all it was an excellent little break.

A romantic night at the Crystal Towers includes an exclusive chef’s menu dinner, romantic turndown, full English breakfast and free wifi, from R1150* per person sharing, per night.
