A few weeks ago I was invited to visit a cherry farm in Ceres to enjoy the beauty of thousands of cherry trees in full bloom. Did you know that the pink cherry blossoms you see all over Instagram all ornamental and actually don’t bear fruit? It’s these snow white blossoms that turn into juicy, sweet cherries.
A few weeks later, these trees were exploding with delicious cherries, which I used as some of the snacks at a small gathering I hosted on my last evening in Cape Town. Cherries are probably everyone’s favourite fruit and at this time of year, they are a festive treat.
I put them in champagne, dressed up my already delicious Bueno Boards with a few of them and Christmassed-up my brownies with a few more. These perfectly sweet Cherry Time cherries are available at Pick n Pay stores across South Africa!
