It’s so true what people say. Your wedding day really does go by so fast, in a blur of butterflies and happy tears and kisses and flashes of pure gold. On the day, I kept trying to remind myself “remember this moment”, “remember this feeling”, but looking back, all I have is brief memories from quiet moments. That’s why our wedding video is so precious to me. It’s a highlight reel that I can watch over and over, to remind me of the light and the laughter and the feeling, not only now, but someday when I have nothing but time to sit and think about the great joys of my life.
I asked for videographer recommendations on Instagram, which is how I found Aletta Francina. Her style was exactly what I’d been looking. I didn’t need a 1 hour feature film of the wedding from start to finish. All I wanted was a moving and emotional music video edit of the big and small moments in our day. I watch this video so often, and I’m always reminded of a new special memory that she managed to capture on the day.
I’m so grateful for this collection of memories, which was a gift from my sister Jonti and brother-in-law Nick and my childhood best friend Leanie and her husband Edu. To future brides, my advice is not to second-guess whether a video is worth it. Go ahead and have a videographer there to capture the joy and love at your wedding. It’s such a special and lasting memory of such a fleeting day where you are absolutely overwhelmed with joy and love. Hire the best photographer and videographer you can.
