My husband and my sister had this gorgeous @famkejewellery necklace made for me with August engraved on the one side and Sullivan on the other. It was a birthday present and I absolutely loved it layered with my @jimnojean pendants. Sadly, I lost it a month after I got it 💔 I retraced my steps, searched high and low, phoned around, but it hasn’t been found.

The transition from one to two babies has not been without its challenges (please, I would like an award for Understatement of the Year) but 7 months in, we’re seeing some normalcy in our lives.

I’ve never spent more time planning, shopping for, cooking and feeding people meals in my life, but at least everyone is eating. I’ve never had less sleep, but we are having some good nights here and there. I’m working and enjoying it. I’m even working out! And on Friday I did dinner and bath time by myself and no one choked or drowned or had to beg the nanny to come back. Baby steps.

The team thinks of everything - from adding two cots and two high chairs to our room, to under floor heating in the living space, to a tiny baby-sized robe for August and baby toys for Sully.

In-room dining takes on a whole new meaning when the family can enjoy a cozy breakfast together around the kitchen table, in their robes.

There is truly no place more comfortable or welcoming. The most perfect winelands property that I always look forward to visiting. Thank you team @stay_lacle for a wonderful birthday 🎂

Ever wanted to visit multiple wine farms in Francshhoek in a day but you have a 6 month old and a 1,5 year old and also you don’t want to drive and you want the kids to enjoy it as much as the grown ups? Let me tell you, the @winetram is your solution. Such an incredible day out for all involved. 12/10 recommend

Miss Ann takes South Africa 🇿🇦

Did you know one adult isn’t allowed to fly with two infants? I mean, I can’t even begin to imagine how one adult would fly with two infants, but it’s not allowed anyway. So thank goodness we have Miss Ann.

Our beloved nanny joined us for all 6 weeks the babies and I were in SA and I was so excited showing her around it felt like I was hosting an exchange student.

I know travelling with your nanny gives some people MAJOR like “ok babe are you even a mom?” feelings in their tummies but I cannot even begin to tell you how much I was not going to cope with two babies for 6 weeks (2 of which my husband was in another country) while working and moving to 7 different locations in 2 different provinces without Ann. She makes having two babies and keeping myself fed and watered possible.

We love Miss Ann ❤️

There is absolutely nothing my friend @_mishalevin can’t do, and creating the most beautiful home to spend a holiday at the beach is just more proof of her talents. Her incredible eye for detail and taste for fine things have come together to create a space that is as perfectly curated as it it is completely comfortable. What an absolute slice of heaven.

The house has 4 en suite King bedrooms downstairs and a loft with two Queen beds upstairs. We ended up sleeping with the boys in the loft and it was so perfect! The downstairs bedrooms are unbelieeeveably comfortable for people who can sleep in though, with the most incredible mattresses and linen and blackout curtains 🤤 (one day!)

We spent one gloriously sunny day walking the cliff path from the house to the kiddies playground in town and finished it off with a potjie and a glass of @hautecabriere in front of the fire 🔥

We stayed in such a lovely Airbnb in Kalk Bay and made the most of the opportunity to walk to the harbour to say hi to the seals every day, pop into Olympia for a coffee and something freshly baked, tuck into fish and chips by the sea, take the train to Surfer’s Corner and enjoy the breaks in the relentless rain. I’ll drop the link to the Airbnb in my stories - it’s perfect for a family getaway and would be even better in summer.

For the memory books 📚

Arrived home at 1am from 6 incredible weeks in SA with a whole new camera roll full of memories.

We slept in 7 different beds, ended up having to rent a trailer to transport all our bags, were absolutely knocked out by sickness for almost 3 weeks and I had two (or three) mental breakdowns. BUT.

We also spent six whole weeks with my parents and a few precious days with Keenan’s mom, saw our beloved friends, visited some of the most beautiful places in the world, ate amazing food and most importantly of all, got to make core mems with our babies.

More to share now that we’re home and I’m in a better headspace ❤️

When I tell you we have been sick, I’m taking about multiple pajama and linen changes per night. The kind of coughing fits where you are surprised you still have your head attached to your body and your eyes inside your head. It’s been roooooouuuuuugh but one thing about having two babies is: You’re going to get out of the house ⛅️

At 2am I’m Googling “postpartum depression questionnaire” because I’m in Cape Town with my whole family and I’m lucky to be warm and safe but we’re all sick and both babies are crying and now I’m crying and is this normal? The weather has been terrible and we’re mostly cold and either wiping noses or wiping tears. I’m dropping balls across every aspect of my life - I’m out of touch with friends, I’m behind on all my work, my temper is always seconds away from being lost. Is it normal for it all to feel very very hard? But then I’m speaking to a doctor and he’s saying that the way I’m feeling does sound normal and it is hard. Having two small babies and everyone being sick and running on minutes of sleep snatched here and there and being away from home and working. It’s hard. It’s hard. But I know it will get easier again. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that it’s all temporary and everything is a phase.
