There are so many things to love about this time of year. The weather, the hundreds of get-togethers with friends, the popping of bubbly bottles, the excuse to shop until your credit card bursts into flames. I’m really feeling the festive spirit this year, and I think it’s due to the fact that we put our tree up on the 25th of November and have been blasting Michael Bublé’s Christmas album on repeat.
Instead of spending hours in the mall this season, I encourage you to shop online. There are so many amazing things to choose from, locally produced and designed and delivered to your door. So much better for your festive spirit. I once heard that if you don’t know what to buy someone, get them something you would get for yourself. So here’s my list of want-for-myself-but-would-buy-for-someone-else items.
For the head
This hat from Jane Sews is such a beauty. If you love someone, help them look younger for longer by keeping their beautiful face protected from the sun.

For the soul
This locally made gin not only looks beautiful but tastes amazing. Infused with rose water, it makes some seriously good cocktails. Did I mention that it’s beautiful? When it comes to drinks like gin, it could be as simple as doing a quick google search into Delicious Gin, for example, in the hopes of finding different options that can help create cocktails for the summer. Not everyone likes strong flavors, so something like gin infused with rose water or other flavoured gin with a lighter taste would be perfect.

Don’t leave your shopping too late – most local online stores close over season, so hurry and get it all done before the 15th of December. I hope my local guide has given you some inspiration. And don’t forget, if you don’t know what to buy, buy something you’d like to receive.
ALSO if you’re looking for loads more local finds, check out this blog post on my friend Anna-Belle’s site.

Love this list. I’m obsessed with Skoon. I must also add Zana – for the festive table settings. First year hosting family christmas at my house and I cannot wait to do the table. I’ve also got myself a stocking and half their store is on my sister’s shopping list.
One of my favourites is jewellery from Dearrae.co.za, so many pretty things.
